Please welcome our new Nurse Practitioner, Gina Tucci who will see patients every Tuesday and Friday from 1:00 pm - 5:30 pm and every third Saturday of the month from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.

About Gina Tucci

Ever since she could remember, she wanted to be a nurse. Her greatest inspiration was her mother who also was a nurse. She always remembers her coming home from work and telling her stories about how she helped people get better, comforted their families in difficult times, and coordinated care with different scheduled tests / procedures / and other doctors. It was at that young age when she realized that is what she wanted to do.

As she grew older, she realized that nursing was filled with endless possibilities and options. Gina attended the local community college and earned her Associates in Nursing and kicked off her career as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Kennedy Hospital in Washington Township, NJ. As a full time staff member, she learned quickly how to work safely and proficiently as well as keeping patient-centered care as her primary focus.

During the next 10 years or so, Gina also worked as an "as needed Registered Nurse" throughout different areas of the Hospital such as Endoscopy Recovery and STAT Medical Transport in addition to, of course, her full time position in the ICU.

However, she admits that her first love of nursing during these 10 years has most definitely been the time in the Intensive Care Unit. She has cared for all different types of patients such as those needing cardiac and respiratory care, post-operative patients, and patients requiring ventilator assistance. More importantly, she developed and mastered how to communicate calmly and deliver efficient care to patients and their families during those difficult and uncertain times.

During these 10 years, Gina attended Drexel University for her Bachelors Degree and eventually Rutgers University for her Masters Degree (both in Nursing) - and eventually passed the New Jersey State Nursing Board examination to practice as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (APN).

Since achieving her Master's Degree & APN, Gina worked with the Internal Medicine Group in the hospital (Kennedy Health) setting, the home and facility setting, and the acute rehabilitation setting - all in New Jersey. Next, she worked again with an Internal Medicine Group, but this time in in Chester, PA with the Crozer-Chester Hospital System. Upon her departure, because of the (now well-known) Covid-19 pandemic, she came back to work in New Jersey again; but this time in the outpatient setting in Family and Addiction Medicine. Gina worked throughout the entire Covid-19 pandemic on the front lines in this position. She eventually transferred to an outpatient Cardiology office and then returned to treating patients in the Family / Internal Medicine outpatient setting.

Gina is happily married and enjoys spending downtime either pool-side on a summer day or relaxing watching movies & TV with her family. She enjoys staying organized and taking as many walks with her family around her neighborhood as she can, and believes that fresh air is the perfect way to de-stress!.
